Civil Marriage/Partnership Ceremony

Unfortunately handfastings are not legally recognised within the UK at the present time.
For those couples who wish to make a legal as well as spiritual commitment a civil ceremony is necessary and Pagan Wedding Planners will be happy to work alongside you to arrange a civil event.

Civil marriage ceremonies have changed a great deal over recent years. Changes in legislation have encouraged a much wider choice of venues and provided the opportunity for couples to make their special day unique.

Pagan Wedding Planners are based in Somerset and as it is no longer a requirement for you to be married in the area you live, Somerset, with its outstanding scenery of coastlines and hills, has become an ideal location. We do of course offer planning services anywhere in the UK.

Pagan Wedding Planners recognise how confusing and stressful it can be to organise even the smallest of civil ceremonies, particularly the logistics involved in having a Handfasting as well, often on the same day.

We can offer a comprehensive service which includes organising the civil ceremony of your choice and ensuring that this is fully coordinated with your Handfasting so that your special day goes smoothly.

Our fee for providing this additional service will depend on the size and complexity of the ceremony required.

There are five Register Office Ceremony rooms across Somerset and an additional 80 premises approved for marriage, each one providing a unique backdrop for your special day, ranging from Stately Homes and Castles to a motor museum and underground caves.
